I moved to Alabama and began my high school career at Gus Grissom High. If there was a "rich" side of town, I was on it. The economic differences were vast, and in order to keep it that way the school district refused to bus anyone to school.
I only lived there for 15 months, but it was definitely a learning experience.
I had my first "real" job here, working at Mc Donald’s
Huntsville is home to the Redstone Arsenal, this is where the engines for the first rockets were tested. It was reported that when the first engine tests were done the shock waves shattered windows as in downtown Huntsville. One of the Space Camps also operates here.
